MIA: IVY Workshop – Shevrin Jones

Join us for an intriguing IVY Workshop and learn How to Get Started in Politics & Shape the Future of Miami with Representative Shevrin Jones, the 101st District Member of the Florida House of Representatives. Getting started in politics is a daunting task, but one sorely needed for a vibrant and healthy civic society. To that end, local politics provides a great first step for aspiring politicians, and serves as a way to make tangible impact on the lives of nearby constituents.
Representative Jones is committed to working with others, reaching across the aisle to do the work of the people in his district and for the State of Florida. In September 2015, he was appointed to sit on President Obama’s College Promise Taskforce.
In this interactive workshop, Representative Jones will advise us on how we can position ourselves to build a meaningful career in politics, and tackle the issues affecting the Miami community.
